La Buca di Ripetta

Great little restaurant just off the Tiber river. Service was great the moment we walked in. Each course was better than the next and at reasonable prices. The entire staff was great. We set upstairs but check out the basement dining area. Very cool, feels like you are in a 500 year old building. The homemade Tiramisu was the perfect cap to a great meal.

I went to Buca di Ripetta on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite meals while in Rome! I had the pasta with the lamb ragu and it was otherwordly! My son had the lamb chops and roasted potatoes which he inhaled. Lovely little spot!

We had the best family birthday lunch here. Our waiter was delightful. He had, although the did not know it , excellent “banter”. He is indeed Bantonio Bantderas. The food was exceptional (although maybe a little heavy on the chicory) , the wine excellent value and I discovered Amoro which was an eye opener.Thankyou for a special afternoon. x

We first ate here 41 years ago, when under the management of the current owners parents and grandparents. It was special then and remains so now.Good food, cooked and presented impeccably, served with grace and warmth.As long as we are able to return to Rome this will feature in our itinerary.Treat yourselves and make a visit. You will not be disappointed.

La Buca di Ripetta is my favorite restaurant in Rome, and one of my favorites in the world. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is fantastic, with creative new dishes along side classic Roman fare. The pear and ricotta ravioli is stunningly good (would be happy to receive this dish at any restaurant regardless of price), their artichoke three ways is fantastic, as is their saltimbocca and roasted pork, but we everything we've had here has been excellent. The wine list is also very strong.
